Experience. Perspective.
A thoughtful partner for leaders, professionals, families, and organizations navigating complexity, change, identity, growth, and the conversations that matter most.
You don't need another person telling you what to do.
You need a thoughtful partner who can listen carefully, ask the questions that matter, challenge assumptions, and help you see what may be difficult to see on your own.
My approach is grounded in listening, reflection, honest conversation, practical insight, and a deep respect for the complexity of people's lives and leadership journeys.
Three ways to create meaningful movement.
My work brings together professional leadership experience, communication expertise, lived experience, scholarship, and decades of listening to people navigate change and complexity.
Executive & Leadership Coaching
For leaders who want a confidential space to think more deeply, communicate more effectively, and lead with greater intention.
Personal Growth Coaching
For individuals ready to understand what comes next and create greater alignment between who they are and how they live and lead.
Adoption, Identity & Family
Thoughtful support for people navigating adoption, identity, belonging, family relationships, transracial adoption, and lived experience.
“Coaching is not about giving you a script for your life or leadership. It is about helping you develop the clarity and confidence to write the next chapter yourself.”Rhonda M. Roorda
Sometimes the next step begins with a conversation.
Coaching can be especially valuable when the answers aren't obvious and the stakes are high.
You may be carrying more responsibility, navigating a transition, preparing for a difficult conversation, or simply know that something needs to change.
You may be ready for coaching if…
- Your role has changed or your responsibilities have grown.
- You are stepping into leadership and need space to think strategically.
- You are navigating career, organizational, or personal change.
- A difficult or important conversation is waiting.
- You are looking for greater clarity, confidence, purpose, or direction.
- You are ready to consider what might be possible next.
Listen. Reflect. Clarify. Act.
Different seasons of life and leadership require different kinds of support. My coaching creates space for honest reflection, meaningful questions, and intentional action.
Listen
We begin by understanding what is really happening— not simply what is happening on the surface.
Reflect
We examine patterns, assumptions, relationships, experiences, and beliefs shaping your choices.
Clarify
We identify what matters most and distinguish what you can influence from what you cannot.
Act
Insight becomes meaningful when it leads to intentional action and practical next steps.
Three decades of leadership.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications— Strategic Communication from Calvin University and a Master of Arts in Communication—Urban Studies from Michigan State University, Rhonda brings a strong foundation in communication, leadership, strategy, and organizational life.
Her professional experience extends well beyond the classroom. For 30 years, Rhonda has managed a cost-savings workers' compensation fund program for independent colleges and universities, first serving as Deputy Fund Administrator and, for the past 14 years, as Fund Administrator.
In that role, she has worked at the intersection of leadership, governance, finance, risk management, organizational relationships, and strategic decision-making.
This experience has given her a practical understanding of the complexity leaders face when people, institutions, resources, responsibilities, and competing priorities intersect.
